  • Three-phase supplies where required
  • Distribution-board alterations/upgrades where part of the project
  • Local isolation
  • Supplies for commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC or machinery where specified

The exact scope depends on the project. Individual specialist services can also be discussed separately where a full fit-out is not required.

Coordinated with builders and other trades

Commercial fit-outs rarely involve one trade working in isolation. Electrical first fix, containment, lighting positions, equipment supplies and final connections often depend on the builder, joinery, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen installation and other project work.

Where required, ZJ Electrical Services can coordinate the electrical installation with the agreed programme so that first fix, second fix, equipment connections and testing take place at the appropriate stages.

Drawings & specifications

We can work from architectural drawings, electrical layouts, schedules and equipment information where these are available.

Trade coordination

Electrical routes and connection points can be reviewed alongside other building services and project requirements.

Programme & access

Site access, working hours, shutdown requirements and relevant sequencing should be agreed before work begins.

Fit-out and alteration work in occupied premises

Some commercial projects take place while part of the business remains operational. Where practical, electrical work can be phased and known interruptions discussed in advance to help the client plan around staff, customers and normal business activity.

Where genuinely required, work outside normal operating hours can be discussed and agreed as part of the project scope.

Commercial fit-out FAQs

Can you work from architects’ or contractors’ drawings?

Yes. Architectural drawings, electrical layouts, equipment schedules and specifications are useful when reviewing a fit-out. Where information is incomplete, we can identify what is required before a final quotation is prepared.

Do you work directly with builders and refurbishment contractors?

Yes. Electrical work can be coordinated with builders and other trades so first fix, second fix, equipment connections and testing fit the wider project programme.

Can power, lighting and Cat6 be installed as part of the same project?

Yes. Where included in the agreed scope, power, lighting, containment and structured Cat6/Cat6A cabling can be coordinated as part of the same commercial installation.

Can you install three-phase equipment supplies during a fit-out?

Yes, where appropriate. The existing supply capacity, maximum demand, earthing arrangement, circuit protection and equipment requirements need to be considered before installation.

Can work be carried out while our business remains open?

It depends on the work and premises. Where practical, work can be phased and known isolations or disruptive activities discussed before the project starts.

What information do you need to quote?

Drawings, equipment information, photos of existing distribution boards, the proposed programme and details of access or shutdown restrictions are all useful. Larger projects may require a site visit.

What electrical certification is provided?

Completed electrical installation work is inspected, tested and certified as appropriate to the work carried out. The exact documentation depends on the scope of the installation or alteration.
