Terms & Conditions
1. Quotations & Estimates
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Quotations are based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change if site conditions, specifications, or requirements differ from those originally described. Estimates are not fixed prices.
2. Deposits & Payments
Any quotation or invoice with a total value exceeding £1,000 requires a deposit upfront before work commences. The deposit amount will be agreed prior to the start of works.
The remaining balance is payable immediately upon completion of the agreed works unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to suspend or delay works if payment terms are not met.
3. Ownership of Materials
All materials, fittings, and equipment supplied and installed by ZJ Electrical Services remain our property until full and final payment has been received.
In the event of non-payment, we reserve the right to remove supplied materials where it is safe and lawful to do so.
4. Certification
No electrical certification (including but not limited to Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates, EICRs, or Building Control notifications) will be issued until full and final payment has been received.
Certificates will only reflect works that have been completed and paid for in full.
5. Variations & Additional Works
Any changes, additions, or variations requested by the client after work has commenced will be subject to additional labour and material costs.
Where possible, variations will be quoted separately and must be approved before work proceeds. Unforeseen works required to ensure safety or compliance with current regulations will be discussed with the client and charged accordingly.
6. Access & Working Conditions
The client must provide safe, clear, and uninterrupted access to the property and working areas for the duration of the works.
We are not responsible for delays caused by restricted access, unsafe working conditions, or third-party interference. Additional costs may apply where delays occur due to access issues.
7. Delays & Force Majeure
ZJ Electrical Services shall not be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, supplier delays, power outages, or third-party actions.
8. Liability & Damage
We will take reasonable care while carrying out all works. We are not responsible for damage to existing concealed wiring, pipework, or structures that were not visible or known at the time of quotation.
Unless expressly stated, making good decorative finishes (including plastering, painting, or redecorating) is excluded from the scope of works.
9. Warranty & Defects
Our workmanship is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of completion. This warranty does not cover defects arising from misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, third-party interference, or materials supplied by others.
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied equipment where applicable.
10. Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing. If works are cancelled after materials have been ordered or work has commenced, the client will be liable for all costs incurred up to the cancellation date, including labour and materials.
11. Complaints
Any complaints must be raised in writing within 7 days of completion of the works. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
